7th Typhoon December 9, 2014

This is the typhoon we were all worried about. We evecuated many missionaries, but by the time the typhoon got to us, there was only a light rain and light wind. This picture was taken before thr typhoon hit us. The winds before, the typhoon were worse than when it got to the mission complex.
Elder Smith was evacuated to the Elders apartment next to our apartment.
Elder Smith's companion and trainee, Elder Thompson. He wasw disappointed that the typhoon wasn't bigger. He'll get his chance to see a few typhoons.

We went to pick up the Mabayo Elders for the typhoon evacuation. The Zone Leaders were there on an exchange.
We took the Zone Leaders back to their apartment and Elder Thompson and Elder Smith went to the mission complex with the Office Elders.

Philippines Christmas

Many homes businesses, and government angencies have lights depicting Christ's birth. A Filipino Missionary Sister said, "That's because we're a Christian Nation."
What  are we in the U.S.? Aren't we a Christian nation? You wouldn't see this on a government building.

This is Meats Plus where we go to eat sometimes. I liked their decorations. The next 2 pictures are Meats Plus.

We love taking missionacalls to the prospective missionaries.

Carrabao Ride

Senior Couples meeting at Elder and Sister Wrights home.
These are all of the Senior Couples in the Olongapo Philippines Mission. We could use 5 more Couples. Come join us.
Elder and Sister White, Sister Gorringe, Sister Winters, Elder Winters, Sister Wright, Elder Wright, Elder Gorringe
A carrabao is a water buffalo. I think there are wild ones and tame ones. In the Philippines, there are only tame ones. They are used to plow the rice fields and carry heavy loads in carts like this one.
We had our meeting before we played. President Dahle had to leave early for an appointment and Sister Dahle didn't come. I think she was with a missionary in the hospital.

Sister Gorringeon the carrabao.

September Special Events

The September New Missionaries, their trainers and President and Sister Dahle
These are the departing missionaries who just took an English test and passed it.
This certificate will help them get better jobs
These are the September departing missionaries. We love these missionaries.
Sister Fonua, on the left has immigrated to Utah where her family is now.

Baptism at Cabangan Branch. Can youn find the 4 missionaries?
Some of the members of thethe San Antoinio Branch at the temple to support the Davis family. There were about 10 from the branch who rented a van to come to the temple. They left about 4:00 a.m. to get to the temple by 8:00.
Brother and Sister Davis and their daughter who was just sealed to them. (see below)
We had the privilege of witnessing the sealing of Brother and Sister Davis. Brother Davis was baptized a year ago. Sister Davis  was inactive when they met. Brother Davis encouraged her to embrace her religion, and he took lessons from the missionaries. Now here they are. Awesome!!!
We had the priviledge of delivering Crispy's mission call to her. She is going to the Philippines  Loaog Mission. She is way excited.
